Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band come to Madison Square Garden on Friday, April 6 and Monday, April 9.

“The Boss” has been a legend for nearly four decades, first and foremost among them is his concerts. Word on the street is that not event the loss of “The Big Man,” saxophonist Clarence Clemons, is slowing him down, and indeed may be inspiring the whole band.

What’s your all-time favorite Bruce show?

Many point to this show at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1975, a copy of which was distributed in 2005 with the 30th anniversary edition of Born to Run.

For our money, we’d give anything to have seen live Bruce’s performance during the legendary No Nuke Shows at Madison Square Garden in 1979.

To be honest, we can’t argue with the characterization of this as the best-ever performance of Rosalita, in the Capital Theater in Passaic, NJ in 1978.

Enough nostalgia! Many are saying this Wrecking Ball tour is the best Bruce and the Band have been in many years; it seems especially true when he pulls some chestnuts from the catalog, such as this rendition of Talk to Me.

So you’re going to the show; the question you really want answered is “what’s the best bar near Madison Square Garden?”

Because we make nearly every list of best bars in NYC, beer lovers have long flocked to Rattle N’ Hum before and after shows at Madison Square Garden, enough of them to get us named one of the best beer bars in America! We’re about a six-minute walk away, on 33rd St. between Madison and Fifth Avenue. We’re know for having forty ever-revolving taps of world famous craft beer, and more than 100 different bottles. Lately, we’ve also become know for our food, with a fresh take on classic pub fare, with items such as Baby Lamb Sliders, Celtic Cubano and Rattle N Hummus, all of which we suggest beer pairings for.

In a matter of uncanny timing, on Friday April 6, we’ll be featuring beers from four of the best breweries in the country – Lagunitas, Smuttynose, Ballast Point and Victory – in an East-West showdown. So before you go off to see Bruce Springsteen at his best, you can catch us at our best, with one of the more exciting beer events we’ve held this year.
